- The objective of the research is : (1) To analyze the condition of food security in sub Walantaka, (2) analizing the level of welfare of the people in District Walantaka and (3) to analyze the distribution of household income in District Walantaka. Subdistrict Walantaka chosen as the research area were determined (purposive). As for the sampling is done by using a cluster sampling (sampling area). Processing techniques and data analyze in this research using tabulation of data, indicators of family welfare by BPS in 2005, and indicator of level of income inequality based on the Gini Ratio values were fitted Lorenz curve. The result showed that the district is in a condition Walantaka food secure when viewed as a whole, but when viewed by the village there are two villages that are on alert food insecurity, the District welfare society walantaka are in welfare level and levels of income inequality are people in the district Walantaka based on the value of the Gini Ratio of 0.317 in the category of low in equality.
