- This research was aimed to find the cognitive competence of students through flip chart media learning on the sub concepts human digestive system. This research was descriptive that used one group pretest-posttest design. The population was all class XI grade students of SMAN 11 Pandeglang in the academic year 2013/2014 with a sample of class XI science 2. Purposive sampling was applied as sampling technique. Data collecting technique used cognitive competence test such as multiple choice (pretest and posttest). The result of this research showed that there was improvement. It could be seen by comparing the score of each pretest and posttest. The score of pretest was 42,2. Then after the posttest increased 67,2. Besides, it was proven by N- gain test, the value of 0,41. Based on the result, cognitive competence of students through flip chart media learning on the sub concepts human digestive system class XI grade students of SMAN 11 Pandeglang improvement.
