- SUMMARY ISTI REKHA PERTIWI. Response of Using Culture Media and Different Concentration of Kinetin towards the Multiplication of Agarwood shoots (Aquilaria malaccensis) Using In Vitro way. (Guided by Susiyanti and Tb. Bahtiar Rusbana). The research was aimed to find out the response of using culture media and different concentration of kinetin towards the multiplication of Agarwood shoots using in vitro way. The research was conducted started from Mei until July 2013 in the Biotechnology Laboratorium of Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Serang, Banten. The research used Randomized Block Design that consisted of two factors. The first factor of culture media consisted of four levels: : M1 (Media MS); M2 (Media WPM); M3 (Media 1⁄2 MS); M4 (Media 1⁄2 WPM). The second factor, the concentration of kinetin, consisted of four levels: K0 (control); K1 (0,20 mg/l); K2 (0,40 mg/l); K3 (0,60 mg/l). Therefore, there were 16 combinations of treatments, each treatment was repeated three times so there were 48 experimental units. The result of the reseach has shown that the using of different culture media has significant effect in the parameter of plant height growth in 2 and 8 MST, the number of leaves in 2, 4, 6, 8 MST, the number of shoots in 4, 6, 8 MST and the number of sections in 2, 4, 6, 8 MST. The using of different concentrations of kinetin has given significant effects in the parameter of plant height growth in 2, 4, 6, 8 MST, the number of shoots in 8 MST and the number os sections in 4 and 8 MST. There were interaction between the culture media and the different concentrations of kinetin in parameter of plant height growth 2, 4, 6, 8 MST, the number of leaves in 2, 4, 4, 6, 8 MST, the number of shoots in 4, 6, 8, MST and the number of section in 4 MST. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the treatment combination of MS media + 0,60 mg/ l kinetin is the best combination for the parameter of plant’s height growth, treatment combination MS media without addition of kinetin for the parameter of number of leaves, treatment combination media of 1⁄2 WPM + kinetin 0,40 mg/l fot the parameter of number of shoots and traetment combination media of 1⁄2 WPM without addition of kinetin for the parameter of number of sections.
