  • The purpose of this research was to obtain isolates of endophytic bacteria producing IAA potential of tissues paddy roots, determine the ability of endophytic bacteria isolates in producing growth hormone IAA with different concentrations, and determine the ability of endophytic bacteria isolates to stimulate seed germination. The method was implemented descriptive qualitative method and quantitative analysis implemented advanced test DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test Method) with a level of 5%. Data was collected through experiments conducted at the Laboratory of Agroecology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa on April to July 2015. Based on the results obtained 10 isolates of endophytic bacteria paddy root consist of 5 isolates of group Pseudomonas spp. and 5 isolates of the group Bacillus spp. The bacterial isolates were able to produce the hormone IAA with average concentrations ranging from 8–20 ppm. In addition, these isolates have different morphological characters. The test showed that all isolates are positive gram, except isolates Ps 4. Based on the analysis of variance, the introduction of endophytic bacteria producing IAA hormone against cucumber seeds showed no significantly results. Key words : paddy, endophytic bacteria, and IAA
