Program Studi Bahasa Indonesia, Pascasarjana, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The purpose of this study to determine the implementation of the use of instructional media of video and cognitive style (field independence-field dependence) of the poetry writing skills of students. The study population comprised a sample of 256 students while the experimental class of 30 students and 30 students of class control. The instrument used is an instrument non test Cognitive Style FD and FI - poetry writing skills test instruments . This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Rangkasbitung. The method used quasi experiment with ANOVA analysis of two paths . These results indicate that : 1) There are differences between the poetry writing skills of students who use video media learning with students learning to use audio media, F 440 060 > F 4.20. (2) There are differences between the poetry writing skills of students who use video media with student learning using learning audio media, F 440 060 > F 4.20. (3) There is an interaction effect between media use and the style instructional video on the cognitive skills of writing poetry, F 216 088 > F 4.20. (4) There is a difference between poetry writing skills of students who use video media learning with field independence cognitive style and student learning using audio media with cognitive style of field independence, F count ≥ 50 631 4.67 Ftable . (5) There is a difference between poetry writing skills of students with learning using video media field dependence cognitive style and student learning using audio media with cognitive style of field dependence, F 187 757 > F 4.67.
