- ABSTRACT This research was aimed to find out the effect of using flashcard media by bridge playing to student’s critical thinking ability on the animal classification subconcept. The research method was quasi-experimental method with control group design pretest-posttest. The population in this research is all of 7 th grade student’s of SMPN 2 Sobang 2012-2013 academic year, with class VII C as experimental class and VII B as control. The sampling determined by random sampling technique. Data obtained with essay test, learning observation sheets and responses questionnaire. The result shows that critical thinking ability of experimental class is higher (72,22) than control class (54,88). The students’ thinking abilities of experimental class are categorized as critical. Based on t-test result it can be concluded that utilizing flash card media by bridge playing were influencing to students’ critical thinking ability on the animal classification subconcept.
