- This research is aimed to know the difference of increasing the result learning problem solving learning models using PhET simulations and those without using PhET simulations on the concept of mechanical energy. This research had been done in academic years 2018/2019 in class X MIA. The method of this research is quasi experiment by nonequivalent control group design, and the technique of taking sample is cluster random sampling. Data was collected using a written test of 30 multiple choice questions about the pretest and posttest. The pretest value shows the amount of tcount is -0.6. The tcount value was compared with the ttable at the 0,05 significance level of 2,0147. It can be seen that the pretest value is smaller than the ttable value. And the posttest value shows the magnitude of tcount is 2,884. The tcount value was compared with the ttable at the 0,05 level of significance obtained by ttable of 2,0147. The average n-gain results in the control class are 0,5 or in the medium category and the average n-gain results in the experimental class are 0,7 in the high category. Thus it can be concluded that there are differences in the improvement of learning outcomes between students who use a problem solving model with Phet simulation and who only use problem solving models without PhET simulation.
