The research aims to determine the effect of concentration of growth regulatorsubstance IBA and the use of different mulch on plant growthwithinginger ofelephant variety. The research was conducted in June-September 2012, in theexperimental land inDalung Village,Cipocok Jaya District.The researchusesexperimental design,group randomdesignwith two factors. The first factor isconcentration of growth regulatorsubstance IBAusing4 levelsnamely 0mg/l,100mg/l,200mg/land300mg/l.The secondoneisthe typeof mulchbyusing4levelsnamelywithoutmulch,straw mulch,grass mulch-grassandstraw mulch.The result of researchshows that givingIBAwithdifferentconcentrationsaffectssignificantlyon plant height 9MST and leaf number MST5.GivinggrowthregulatorssubstanceIBAwithdifferent concentrationsaffect onplant height6,7,and10MST, leaf number 6,9,and10MST, the number of tillers7MSTandfresh weightofrhizome 10MST.Givingdifferent mulchaffectssignificantlyonthe number of tillers 6 MST. Interaction between giving IBA with differentconcentrations and giving different mulch exists in all parameters of theobservations. Concentration of growth regulator substance IBA 200 mg/l andwithout mulch provide the best interaction for plant height parameters.Concentration of growth regulator substance IBA 0 mg/l and without mulchprovide the best interaction for number of leavesparameter. On the parameterofnumber of tillers, giving growth regulatorsubstance IBAwith concentration of200 mg/l and straw mulchprovide the best interaction.Givinggrowth regulatorssubstanceIBAwithconcentration200mg/1andwithoutmulchprovides the bestinteractionforparameters ofwet weighttothe plant canopy.Onthe parametersofrhizome fresh weight, giving the plant growth regulators substance IBA withconcentration of 200mg/1 andwithout mulch and provision of plant growthregulatorssubstanceIBAwith aconcentration of0mg/1andstraw mulchshowsthe bestinteraction.On parameterof crowndry weightandplantsrhizome,givinggrowth regulatorsubstance IBAwith aconcentration of200mg/1andwithoutmulchprovidethebestinteraction.
