  • This research aims to determine the difference in student learning outcome and what method which the student learning outcome is higher in the study proccess between mind mapping method and speech method in 5th grade natural science subject of the material structure of the earth. This research was conducted at Tangerang 09 Kunciran Public Primary School school of year 2015/201. The method of this research is quasi-experiment. The technique used for taking sample is purposive sampling to choose the experiment class and control class. In this research, class VB became the experiment class and class VA became the control class. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is a difference in student cognitive learning outcome who used the mind mapping method and those who used the speech method is proved in the trial of two parties by thitung> ttabel which is 4,47 > 2,000 then H0 is refused, Ha is accepted. Also the student learning outcome who used the mind mapping method is higher than the students who used the speech method, it is proved in the trial of the right party by thitung> ttabel which is 4,47 > 1,670 then H0 is refused and Ha is accepted.
