- This study aims has purpose for knowing the difference ability of understanding mathematical concept students which use learning media based on the concept volume with that use learning media in the form of image. This research is a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population studied were all students of class V SDN Tegal Cabe Cilegon which consists of 2 classes of the school year 2016/2017. While the sample using purposive sampling. With VA class an experimental class that gets Learning Media Based on the Concept Volume of Geometry and VB as a control class that gets simple learning media in the form of image. Based on result of hypothesis test average ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students using learning media based on the concept of volume of wake up space is higher than students using simple learning media in the form of images, Then it can be concluded that there were differences ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students taught with Learning Media Based on the Concept Volume of Geometry with the ability of understanding mathematical concepts the students who use the simple learning media in the form of image and the ability of understanding mathematical concepts of students with learning using a Learning Media Based on the Concept Volume of Geometry is better than the students who use the learning with simple learning media in the form of image.
