- The aim of this research was to find a modification of growing and giving growth regulators BAP for initiation of Gnetum gnemon L. This research has been done at Biotecnology Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University since August 2014 to October 2014. This research used Completely Randomizet Designed (RCD) with two factors. The first factor was modification of growing medium with 4 levels, they were WPM, MS, 1/2 WPM, 1/2 MS. The second factor was BAP concentration with 4 levels, that were 0 mg/l, 0,25 mg/l, 0,5 mg/l, 0,75 mg/l. So that there were 16 treatment combinations. The result of this research showed that the shortest time to grow of buds showed in full MS (12,17 day after planting) and BAP 0 mg/l (11,59day after planting). Highest plant height showed in full MS (2,00 cm) and BAP 0 mg/l (1,77 cm). Best result of leaves number showed in full MS (0,83) and BAP 0 mg/l (0,83). Best result for shoots length showed in full MS (0,34 cm) and BAP 0 mg/l (0,28 cm). All living explants reached 100% during the observation with number of contamination was only 8 explants.
