- In learning, various problems are often encountered among students lacking a sense of learning responsibility in learning of Pancasila and Citizenship Education. From the results of observations and interviews, researchers found several problems related to the character of student responsibility, namely when the teacher gave the assignment, students were unable to submit the assignment given by the teacher on time, when working on the task, students looked at the work of their friends. The purpose of the study was to find out the character traits of responsibility through learning Pancasila and Citizenship Education. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 in Serang City. The time for research began in December 2017 until May 2018. The research method used was descriptive method with a qualitative approach. This study uses data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments in this study were using observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is the analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman models. Examination of the data in this study was carried out with Extension Observations, increasing persistence, triangulation testing and memberchecking data from various sources with various techniques. The results of the study show that, (1) instilling the character of responsibility in students, namely the teacher integrates the value of the character specifically the character of responsibility into the material being taught. Planting the character of responsibility is not only done in the classroom when the lesson takes place, but is done outside the classroom by going through a variety of habits, (2) supporting factors namely the teacher being a role model for students, discipline that must be obeyed, and the existence of a Standard Operating Procedure. The inhibiting factors are the absence of a teacher and parent contact book, (3) the planting of the character of responsibility through learning is done using the lecture method, discussion, question and answer, assignment and use of strategies (CTL)
