- This research aims to see correlation between students motivation to study with student’s cognitive ability through learning model Team Game Tournament on living organisms characteristics concept. Method being used here is a correlation technique. Researches population consists of students in 7th grade Al-Wustqo junior high school. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling method. Learning motivation as a independent cariable will be measured with quesionaire, and student’s cognitive ability as a dependent variable will be measured with objective test. Based on research result, learning motivatin achieved 77.8% on average results with good catrgory, meanwhile student’s cognitive ability achieved 76.25% with high category. Correlation between student’s motivation with student’s cognitive ability result is about 0.474 with significance value 0.35. Hence it proves us that there is a positive correlation between studenr’s motivation with student’s cognitive ability through learning model about living organisms characteristics at Al-Wustqo junior high school.
