  • This research attemps to know differences in the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts after using props dakon mathematics in grade IV SDN Tenjolahang 1. The method used is a quasi-experimental method, while the design of the study is a non-equivalent control group design. There are two classes in this study, the control group and the experimental group. The control group that is a student IV-B class consisting of 25 students who were not given the treatment using props dakon mathematical and experimental class is class IV-A which consists of 25 students were given treatment using mathematics dakon props. The data collection techniques was conducted on the test the ability of understanding the concept of students in the form of non-test post-test as well as in the form of interviews and documentation. Based on the results showed that there are significant differences between the ability of understanding mathematical concepts students were given treatment using mathematics dakon props with which no treatment is given using mathematical dakon props, can be seen from the t-test is 3.17> 2.01, then Ha accepted and Ho is rejected. Test the ability of understanding mathematical concepts were given treatment using props dakon math is better than students who were not given the treatment using mathematics dakon props, can be seen from the t-test is 3.165 > 2.01, then Ha accepted and Ho rejected.
