- The reseacrh aimed to develop a contextual student’s work sheet based on bryophyte diversity of Tunda Island as a teaching learning materials on the bryophyte sub concept. Exploration of bryophyte on Tunda Island using purposive sampling method and quadrant sampling technique. The student’s work sheet was developed by R & D method, adapted from Borg & Gall model which was limited to only five initial stages. The results of the bryophyte exploration on Tunda Island showed that the bryophyte diversity in Tunda Island was in the low category with the indeks of diversity Shannon – Wienner (H’) value of 0.9148. This research data of diversity is used as content for developing contextual based student’s work sheet. The student’s work sheet is assessed from the media and material aspects by expert assessment. Data obtained from questionnaires were analyzed qualitatively. The result produce student’s work sheet based on bryophyte diversity at Tunda Island on bryophyte sub concept with average value on media aspec was 88,4 % and material aspec was 86,7 %. It concluded based on expert assessment the contextual student’s work sheet is high feasible as a teaching learning materials in bryophyte sub concept for 10th grade student of senior high school.
