- The importance of high order thinking is that students can train the broader process of thinking so they will not only memorize the learning that has been done but also process the information provided . Group Investigation learning models are learning models which can make students get used to thinking at high level with some stages include: grouping, planning, investigating, organizing, presenting and evaluation. This research can be useful to know the impact model of cooperative learning group investigation type to high order thinking skills on ecosystem concepts. This research was kind of quasi experiments research with randomized control group pretest-posttest design. This research was used a population from grade VII students at SMP Negeri Kota Serang. Sampling was done by random sampling technique that generates grade VII A for control class and grade VII D for experiments class. Data collection used a descriptive test, observation of the implementation and questionnaire of students responses to learning technique. Descriptive tests include 11 questions, with 6 questions of high-level thinking skills indicator and 5 questions with cognitive understanding and applying levels. Analysis techniques used a normality test, homogenitly test, and t-test. The result from this research showed that with group investigation learning models can improve high-level thinking of students. There is a significant result from Sig. (2-tailed) 0,0005 with probability P < 0,05.
