- ABSTRACT Disti Nur Hidayah. Improve student learning proceeds in social science subject by using active learning method by way of index card match. A Research paper, Elementary school department, teacher training and education faculty, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The problem is focused in this research is: how to improve the learning proceed of social science at primary school. The purpose of this research is to find one of appropriate learning strategies in social science learning. The benefits of this research is to improve student knowledge on social science subject and as an example for teachers or researchers about application of active learning method by index card match. The research was conducted in the fifth grade in SDN PONDOK BAHAR 6. This research was implemented by using active learning method by way of index card match. There are two cycle, that are cycle I and cycle II. Every cycle each consisting of two learning sessions. Thus during the research has been conducted four time sessions of learning. The result showed that the data obtained the result of the action learning cycle I with an average score of learning proceed is 19.68 with completeness percentage 80%. in action learning cycle II the data obtained an average score of student learning proceed is 85 with completeness percentage 95%. Thus,The implementation of active learning method by index card match in the fifth grade have shown the expected result. That can be seen from the percentage of increasing student learning proceed. Implications of the study results is an active learning method by index card match can be one method that can be used to improve student learning proceed in primary school.
