- ABSTRACT The purpose of this study to determine the correlation between self-motivated with the cognitive abilities of students of class XI on the concept of the human excretory system in senior high school Al-Khairiyah 4 Cilegon. This research method using descriptive correlational techniques. Population is all students of class XI in senior high school Al-Khairiyah 4 Cilegon while the sample is class XI science, amounting to 20 people with a purposive sampling. Instruments used in the form of questionnaires and objective test. Based on the analysis of the data showed that there is a significant correlation between self-motivation with cognitive ability in class XI at senior high school Al-Khairiyah 4 Cilegon. Based on the results of this study concluded that there is a significant positive correlation between self-motivated with the cognitive abilities of students of class XI on the concept of the human excretory system in senior high school Al-Khairiyah 4 Cilegon with a correlation coefficient of 0,574 at the 5% significance level.
