- This research was triggered by the presence of learning always see the result of the study and low ability mathematical problem solving skill. The research aims to find out what is there different of mathematical problem solving skill on the student by missouri mathematics project models and direct learning models. The research method used is quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Sample technique used is purposive sampling, with V.A1 class (control class) and V.A2 class (eksperiment class). The result obtained the data of the pretest and posttest, where the data do test the prerequisites first namely normalitas test and homogenitas. In the data posttest result in the average problem solving ability of the class experiments 74,45 and the class controls 61,95. Next done, testing hypothesis wit t test. So get conclusions is there is different of mathematical problem solving skill on the student by missouri mathematics project models and direct learning models and an average of the problem solving the experiment better than the control.
