Beginning count is one of the important capabilities that can be introduced to the child since the beginning considering all human activities are always related to the activities of counting. Early numeracy skills in kindergarten Al-Hamidiyah Bogor still low, this is because there are still children who have not been able to understand the concept of counting, counting activities in the class only use the worksheet so that the learning process can not run optimally. So needed the use of learning media used to be able to count through concrete objects. A smart box is an APE that can be used as a medium of learning in the start counting activity The method used in this research is the method of action research, the action designed in the recurring cycle, in this study consists of two cycle. In cycle I as much as 8 time. Action and cycle II as 1 times action. With success criteria reach 70%. Each cycle consists of stages; planning, action observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were the children of TK Al-Hamidiyah Cibungbulang Bogor of 11 children consisting of 3 girls and 8 boys in second semester of academic year 2016/2017. Data collection techniques used are through observation, field notes, interview notes and documentation. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Based on the results of research that has been done, it is found that the ability to count the beginning of children aged 5-6 years increases each cycle. At pre action of 38%, first cycle 66% and on the second cycle 78% and experienced success on targeted indicator. Based on the results of data that have been obtained it can be concluded that educational game tool smart box can improve the ability to count the beginning of the child after 5-6 years in kindergarten Al-Hamidiyah Cibungbulang Bogor regency.
