- The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between oral communication with students’ cognitive abilities in environmental pollution concept used Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model. The population in this study were all students of grade SMAN 1 Cibadak. Academic Year 2016/2017. The sample in this population are students of grade X which were determined by random sampling technique. Students ‘oral communication are measured using observation sheets while the student’s cognitive ability was measured by using a multiple-choice tests. The results that an average of value students oral communication was 75,5, categorized as fair and the average value of students’ cognitive abilities was 65,5, categorized as fair. The result showed that students learning oral communication was fairly correlated to cognitive abilities students (r=0,591) in environmental pollution consept through Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model.
