- The purpose of this study was to ebserve the understanding of high school student in city serang on the concept of ecosystem are contextual or not. The method used was descriptive. The study of population was all high school students in city serang academic year 2013/2014 with a sample taken by cluster sampling. Understanding contextual measured using the test description and sheet questioner. The result showed that understanding high school students ini city serang on the concept ecosystem not contextual with the result percentages students 0% in the coastal region, 4,2% in urban areas and 6% at locality agroecosystem.
