- IKM XYZ is one of Small and Medium Industry located in Taman Cilegon Indah area which is engaged in fashion. The problem faced is that the warehouse owned has not been able to overcome the problem of irregularity of existing product congestion, because IKM XYZ has produced many types of products and the amount of the product to exceed the capacity of the warehouse shelves, causing the product was forced to be stored outside the storage shelves that should be. Dedicated storage method is a method of product storage layout based on the number of incoming and outgoing product activities in the warehouse with the shortest distance to I / O point (throughput). The purpose of this study is to calculate the total distance of material handling in the existing condition, calculate the total distance of material handling at the proposed condition, calculate the total loss of material handling distance that occurs if the dedicated storage method is applied. Therefore, to be able to answer the purpose of the research it is necessary to apply the method of dedicated storage. With the design of the preparation of the implementation of dedicated storage is expected that the product will be stored can occupy a fixed location to facilitate the operator in the storage and retrieval of products, so that the flow of products become smooth and the use of storage area (space requirements) to be more optimal. The result obtained for the total material handling distance on the existing condition of 2639.69 m, the total distance of material handling mileage at the proposed condition of 2102.13 m, and the difference in material handling distance reduction of 537.56 m with a percentage of 20, 36%.
