  • This study aims to analyze students’ mathematical anxiety in problem based learning. The method used in this study is the method combination (mixed method) with a sequential explanatory design. The population in this study is the whole grade VIII of private Junior High School with low achievement level categories in Serang City in the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, with certain consideratins obtained class VIII SMP PGRI 2 Kota Serang as a sample. The instrument used in this study is a nontest instrument in the form of students’mathematical anxiety scale, obervation sheet, interview guideline, documentation and as well as the researchers themselves. The result of the study conlude that there is no different in mathematical anxiety between before and problem based learning in students.
