  • Mud crab is an animal that is strongly associated with mangrove forests and has a distribution area throughout Indonesia. Lontar waters, Serang Banten is a potential area of mud crab fishing because it has mangrove ecosystem as a habitat of mangrove crabs. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the carapace length and weight, carapace width and weight, carapace thickness and weight of mud crabs. Experimental fishing was conducted on April-May 2014. Regression analysis was used to determine relationship between morphometrics parameters and weight. The weight and morphometrics parameters of mangrove crabs have high correlation. Its mean the morphometrics parameters can explain the weight of mud crabs. On males mud crab, relationship between length-weight has a very hight correlation, so that length of carapace parameter may be used to guess the weight. On females mud crab carapace more width is appropiate to predict the weight because it has a very high relevance. Keywords : mud crab (Scylla serrata), carapace, length, width, weight.
