- Basically the business development of agribusiness urban (PUAP), is a step a break from the agriculture department to poverty reduction and creation of jobs in urban. This program is needed given by the public. The purpose of doing this research is to find out how characteristics farmers; participation farmers; and relations characteristic farmers against participation farmers in following PUAP program. The method used was a method and place research survey conducted in purposive ( deliberately ), this research carried out in the village of Kepandean on gapoktan Dewi sri sub-district Ciruas. The technique of the sample in random sampling, the number of samples sixty-eight (68) farmers. An instrument analysis used that is a test of the correlation rank spearman. The result analysis of the research is to the characteristics of age most farmers more on forty nine to fifty six (49-56) years, the level of education more in secondary elementary school, number of members household mostly on many members five to six (5-6) people, old business farmers is more than thirty (30) years, and land area farmers more at a half to one (1⁄2 -1) hectare. On the participation of farmers who joined the program are PUAP the average into the category of a low. Based on the output that acquired all characteristics farmers having no relation significant on participation farmers in program PUAP. Keywords : PUAP, characteristic and the participation of farmers
