- The soil with low carrying capacity is unable to support the upper construction so it needed soil improvement. Soil method is generally use on clay because it has a considerable shrinkage value that causes the soil to become softer when wet. If there is a construction on it, then the construction will give a huge load to the ground. The problem occurs on the road of Kampung Peuteuy Bojong Gabus Village Kopo District where as at STA 1+217 to 1+805 point. On soil improvement method this time using rice husk ash added substance. Rice husk ash is dominated by 86% silica elements and 14% other elements. This study aims to determine the effect of rice husk ash added on the value of unconfined compression test (UCT). The addition of rice husk ash varies by 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% against curing 0 days, 4 days, 14 days and 28 days. The result of soil physical characteristic test indicated that the soil was classified as organic non-organic clay with medium plasticity and plastic index (PI) valued by 13,87%, 24% optimum water content, and weight of soil contents is 1.52 gram/cm3. For the addition of 5% percentage rice husk ash is increasing steadily up to 28 days, but in 10% to 20% there was decreased in 14 days and 28 days. The greatest qu value on the 28 days curing with the addition of 5% rice husk ash is 9.1 kg/cm2. The value of qu is greater than the planned load value, the value of the recana load is 8,019 kg/cm2.
