  • Concrete is a mixture comprising sand, gravel or other aggregates mixed together with a paste made of cement and air forming a rock-like mass. The raw material of concrete manufacture which has been obtained from nature tends to decrease due to continuous exploitation, many experiments are conducted to find alternative natural sources as substitutes such as dregs ashes for cement and latex substitution for water substitution. The purpose of this research is to utilize waste bagasse ash, and know the optimum composition of bagasse ash and latex for concrete formation. The initial procedure of this study started from the preparation of bagasse ash by burning to obtain SiO2 content, tested sticky ashes of bagasse with cement, execution of concrete making by mixing materials in the form of sand, cement, pebble, water, bagasse and latex, the obtained concrete tested its compressive strength. The optimum condition is found in 10% latex mix and 10% bagasse ash with 23,00 Mpa compressive strength value. The value of the compressive strength refers to SNI 03-1974-1990 quality of K- 277 where the concrete is included in the normal structural concrete for the two-story building application.
