  • Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is one of the complications on retina caused by diabetes. This disease cause eyed-blind in adults with symptom seen is the appearance of exudate and the appearance of new blood vessels. The device which is used in this field is fundus camera that used capture retinal image. However, to analyze the image of the fundus should be done by an eye doctor who is an expert and will spend a lot of time. Therefore, the automatic feature detection could help doctors in processing the retinal image in analyzing disease diabetic retinopathy. The method is tested on the morphological operations of the fundus image Cicendo Eye Hospital Bandung. The data used by 75 images, which consists at 25 images of normal eyes, 25 image of Non-Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy (NPDR), and 25 images Proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). The results of feature extraction exudate and blood vessels were then calculated the value of the area, centroid and by using fast Fourier transform to describe the shape of the object for further diagnosis.. The results of calculations on the area of feature extraction exudate which has a range of 0 pixels to the image of a normal eye, 17-21213 pixels to image the retina with NPDR class, and 125 -12 299 pixels for the image of the retina with PDR class. The results of calculations on the area of feature extraction of blood vessels which have a range of 13319- 46681 pixel to the normal eye, 7435-49938 pixels to image the retina with NPDR class and 13891-53802 pixels to image the retina with PDR class.
