- This research aims to understand how a result of the application of model learning twisted cooperative type of check on ability to think critically students class V sdn serang city of serang 08 year lesson 2016 / 2017 on the subjects of social science especially in competence 2.2 appreciate basic services and the role of the struggle in preparing the independence of indonesia. Methods used in research is method quasi ekperimen type nonequivalent control group design .In this study , the va which consists of 20 students as a class experiment and class vb which consists of 20 students as a class control. Based on the research done, suggests that the ability to think critically students who received learning model pair check better than students who received learning model directly (direct intruction) it can be seen from uji-t' the one hand namely by the formula tcount 2,05 ˃ ttable 1,8. so H0 rejected Ha accepted. So that we can conclude that the ability of students think critically in subjects who got social class model learning Pair check is better than students who get learning learning model direct (direct intruction).
