- ABSTRACT Car and motorcycle engines require gasolines are in accordance with the design of the machine itself to work well and produce optimal performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the fuel consumption on a 4-cylinder 2000cc engine by using the variation of the octane premium fuel used 88 octane, 92 octane pertamax and pretamax plus 95 octane degan sourced from Pertamina gas stations, the engine speed, 1000, 2000,3000 and 4000 rpm. . From the research, obtained the lowest fuel consumption on a machine that uses a rotation 1000 rpm, which is a premium fuel, with the condition that is equal to 2105gr / h, then the use of more fuel-efficient pertamax 8.78% and the yield of 1935gr / h, then by the use of more efficient pertamax plus 8.50% that is equal to 1940 g / h. Furthermore, the engine speed of 4000 rpm using premium fuel that is equal to 3072 g / h while using more fuel-efficient pertamax 92 27.46% with a yield of 2410gr / h, then use pertamax plus increased 26.62% which resulted in at 2426gr/h. .
