  • Smooth motor is the organizing between small muscles that require precision and eye and hand coordination that can lead to gentle or simple movements such as writing, tearing and so on. The fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years in Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Serang kindergarten is still low, this is due to lack of stimulation and good activities that can support smooth child motorbikes in order to develop optimally. So it takes activities interesting and fun for children, one of them is by painting activities with sand. The activity of painting with sand is an activity applied by researchers in improving fine motor skills. The method used in this research is the method of action research, the action designed in the recurring cycle, in this study consists of two cycles. In the first cycle of 8 actions and cycle II as much as 2 times the action, with the success criteria reached 60%. Subjects in this study were in Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Serang kindergarten with the number of 17 children aged 4-5 years consisting of 11 girls and 6 boys. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques through observation, field notes, interview notes and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Initial stages are given in the learning process by designing RPPH and apply the activity of painting with sand in the learning process In the core activities carried out by giving action through the activities of painting with sand and make observations in each cycle. Based on the results of the research, it is found that the fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years through sand painting activities with the results of this study note that at the beginning of 29% then in the first cycle increased to 57%, in the second cycle had a significant increase reached 93% And experience success on targeted indicators. Based on the results of data that have been obtained it can be concluded that the application of painting activities with sand can improve the fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years in kindergarten Kemala Bhayangkari 01 Serang.
