  • ABSTRACT EFFORT TO IMPROVE LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH BY USING COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL TYPE THINK PAIR SHARE IN CIVIC EDUCATION SANDRA SANTIKA 2227100680 The research is motivated by a problem that is the low learning outcomes of students of Civic Education and the lack of student involvement in the learning process. This is becaused Civic Education is viewed as the subject are boring and tendency unimportant by the student. This phenomenon appears from the indicator of the seriousness and the enthusiasm of students in studying the subject is low and lack of serious attention. Unknowingly these conditions give serious effect on the development of personality and character of the students in the future. Therefore to solve this problem the researcher used Cooperative Learning model, type Think Pair Share (TPS). The subject of this research is 32 students in the class of VI B SD Negeri Kelapa Dua 1 Tangerang. This research is to increase in learning outcomes and to discover the students activity in Civic Education. The research method used is Penelitian Tidakan Kelas (Class Action Research) using research method from Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The research took 2 cycles, and each cycle consist of one meeting. The instruments used are test, observation and dokumentation. The result of this research, which is the learning outcomes and students activity in Civic Education shows an increase. During the pre-cycle the learning accomplishment was only 31%. Then the first cycle the learning accomplishment of the student increases to 71% and the average activity percentage of the student by the end of the first cycle is 75%. In the second cycle the student learning accomplishment increases into 100% and the average student activity percentage by the end of the second cycle reaches 100%. The research concludes that the learning process using cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) could increase the learning result and the students activity.
