- ABSTRACT The Influence of Using Repeated Reading Strategy toward Students’ Reading Comprehension at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 4 Kota Serang By Siti Widya Wulan Sari 102475 vi The objective of the research was to find out the influence of repeated reading strategy toward students’ reading comprehension at the eighth grade of SMPN 4 Kota Serang. This research used quantitative approach through true experimental as research design. The population of this research were all of eighth grade students of SMPN 4 Kota Serang and the sample used in this research were the students of VIII E as the experimental group and VIII F as the control group. Each group consisted of 30 students. As the result, the researcher showed the average score of pre test in experimental group was 58.5 became 81.1 in the post test. Meanwhile, in control group the average score of pre test was 59.5 became 72 in the post test. In finding a significant difference between two variables, the researcher conducted t test. The result showed t count was higher than t (5.681 ≥ 1.672). Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. So, the researcher concluded that, there was a t able significant influence of students’ reading comprehension by using repeated reading strategy at the eighth grade of SMPN 4 Kota Serang. The researcher also expected repeated reading strategy could be used as one of alternative teaching techniques. Keyword: Repeated Reading Strategy, Students’ Reading Comprehension.
