- Sandra Meilasari, 2018. Identification of the Race of Pyricularia grisea Due to Blast Disease in Rice in Situ Patenggang and Ciherang Varieties (Oryza sativa L.) Under Supervisor of Dewi Hastuti, Eltis Panca Ningsih and Santoso. Blast is one of the most important disease of rice. Pyricularia grisea is fungal that cause blast and devastating disease of rice. The using of the blas-resistant varieties is one of the most efficient ways to control the disease on rice blas. International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) had developed differential rice variety set, each variety had single resistance gene identified. The using of differential variety set allowed to identify the resistance gene that responsible to protect plant from blas pathogen. The purpose of this research to know the diversity of race and responses of P. grisea from the origin Situ Patenggang and Ciherang varieties against resistance genes of blas disease (Pi). The results of the identification of races P. grisea from 28 isolates obtained by 11 groups races from Situ Patenggang and Ciherang varieties, namely race 001, race 020, race 033, race 040, race 041, race 053, race 171, race 223, race 313, race 333 dan race 353. Response of P. grisea isolates from Situ Patenggang and Ciherang varieties have gene resistance (Pi) Pi-i, Pik-h, Pik-p, Piz-5 effective to control races from Situ Patenggang and Ciherang varieties, Pi-a resistance gene has a susceptible reaction to 21 P. grisea isolates, that make this gene cannot be used to control blast disease in Indonesia.
