  • ABSTRACT READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS IMPROVEMENT STRATEGY USED TO KNOW KNOW-WANT-LEARNED(KWL) IN CLASS SDN CITEREP CITY DISTRICT WALANTAKA SERANG by The MAHYATULZANNAH This study wasmotivated bythe lackof a reading or story memahi on meteri learning at the elementary school level, especiallyinclassV.This research was conductedin SDN Citerep Walantaka Serang District of School Year 2014/2015. The learning method usedis the KWL strategy. The method usedin this research is classroom action research, conducted in the collaborative classroom between teacher sand research hers with the aim to improve teacher performance and the quality of learning that in creases student learning outcomes. The datawere obtained with the following instruments: the observation and achievement test. The procedure consisted of three stages, namely (1) the actionplan, (2) the implementation of the action consists of two cycles, and (3) the stage of evaluation of the learning that has been implemented. Fromthe results obtained by two cycles of the resulting increase in the average evalue of students, in the first cycle of 58,4% increased to 76% in the second cycle. Acquisition valueis evidenced by the results of the students who experienced an in crease in the highest scores and decreased the lowest score. This results because the students feel the improvement of the quality of learning by using, KWL Strategy.
