- AHMAD KHAIRUL ILMI. 2018. Study on Embryogenesis and Hatching Rate of Silver Pompano (Trachinotus blochii) on Different Salinity. Supervised by MUSTAHAL, MAS BAYU SYAMSUNARNO and ARIF SETIAWAN. Silver pompano is high valued finfish in Indonesia. It is in high demand due to its good taste and faster growth. The aim of this research is to determine optimum salinity rate embryogenesis and hatching rate of silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii). This research was undertaken in July-August 2018 at the laboratory of Lampung Marine Aquaculture Center. The fish used was 1 male and 1 female. The research design used in this study was by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 salinity treatments and 3 replications. The salinity treatment for each aquarium is 30 ppt (A), 25 ppt (B), 20 ppt (C), and 15 ppt (D). Eggs are obtained from spawning made by a pair of silver pompano. The parameters studied were embryogenesis, hatching rate, hatching time and Survival Rate. The result showed that the treatment of differences in salinity affects the hatching rate of silver pompano eggs. the fastest treatment time is treatment A (30 ppt) which was 19.21 ± 0.05 hours. Highest hatching rate was found in treatment A (30 ppt) which was 53.70 ± 3.42%. the conclusion is changed in salinity did not affect the duration of each phase of embryogenesis except during the hatching phase. but it affects the hatching rate. The optimal salinity for the hatching rate is 25-30 ppt. The salinity treatment has the effect on the hatching time and hatching rate of eggs. Keywords: Embryogenesis, Hatching Rate, Trachinotus blochii.
