- Gender issues are still interesting to discussed, one of them about a transgender identity. This thesis discusses how the process of the formation of gender identity Dena Rachman and how fashion is able to communicate the identity of Dena as a transgender woman and as an elegant and glamorous. Dena was initially disrupted gender identity since childhood. That process takes place continuously. Dena is actively learning to recognize the behavior, and how the role of a male and female attire. In addition, actively develop their cognitive. Dena to apply appropriate gender expected. The concept of identity in Dena he developed in accordance with the scheme of the gender that he woke up alone, without making the physical as a barrier to transform into a woman. After modifying his or her identity as a woman, then a big contribution in fashion form the identity of Dena. Through this research, the perception of some new be extracted. Generally the community provide an assessment of the appearance of a transgender who yammer and impressed tacky. But in this study are not visible in Dena. As a transgender does not look precisely like Dena stereotype against the transgender. through the clothes, accessories and cosmetics paint new picture about Dena appearance a transgender with looks that simple, elegant and glamorous. With the selection of clothing is clean, minimalist and cosmetic accessories that are not too excessive. “I did want to be a woman, but that does not mean I have to like the color pink and use many accessories”, says Dena.
