- Poverty is one of problems that always appear in public life. The implications of poverty problems can involve all the aspects of human life, although its presence is often not aware of it by man concerned. Efforts to reduce the level of poverty can not be run in partial, but it must be related to various aspect with regard to the basic needs of the community. The study is done to analyze a bunch of factors affect the level of poverty in 8 province of Sumatera Island during the period 2010-2014. This factor is the open unemployment rate, government expenditure, and regional income per capita. Regression model used is multiple linear regression analysis by using a panel data using random effect approach. With the help of software Eviews 8. This study used 8 province in Sumatera Island and with time series 2010- 2014. The result simultaneously shows that, tatally independent variable together can point it’s influence to the poverty. And R-Squared value of 0,462204 which means 46,22% of poverty can be explained by independent variable. While the rest 57,78% explained by the other factors outside of the model. Research result show open unemployment rate variable negatively and not significant on poverty, government expenditure variable negatively and significant on poverty, and regional income per capita variable negatively and significant on poverty.
