  • Polychaeta (Nereis sp.) used as feed for shrimp broodstock, fish, fishing lure, biofilter and some species can be consumed by humans. The polychaeta culture in Indonesia is very limited. Information about stocking density and the effects on survival rate, growth rate and the production is lack. The purpose of this research is to determine the best stocking density for the growth and survival rate of polychaeta. The research conducted over 35 days in July to August 2014 in the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The consist of three treatments (100, 150, 200 Individu/m2) with three replications. Survival rate, spesific growth rate, feed efficiency and water quality were measured parameters. From the results of research on the value of each treatment the survival rate of 91.66%±14.4; 98.14%±3.2 and 83.33%±15.0. The value of the specific growth rate of 0.34%±0.23; 0.43%±0.23 and 0.69%±0.36. The value feed efficiency of 11.13%±8.22; 13.84%±11.75 and 21.66%±9.73. Value range of water quality, temperature 24-30oC, salinity 9-14 ppt, DO 5.7-8.6 ppm, pH 7.05-7.57 and ammonia 0.00-0.0076 ppm. The addition of stocking density polychaeta in this research provide the same effect on the survival rate, specific growth rate and feed efficiency. Therefore, further research should be done on a density above 200 individu/m2 to determine the value of the survival and growth of Polychaeta.
