  • ABSTRACK This aims of this research the application of the method to role playing of motivation and cognitive abilities of students to the concept of organization live in SMPN 2 Ciruas. The method used is descriptive method. The population in this study were all students of class VII in SMPN 2 Ciruas academic year 2013/2014, with sample of class VIIB by purposive sampling technique. Technique of data collection using a questionnaire, objective test and observation sheets. Based on the research that has been carried out that role play method is applied to the student of class VII in SMP Negeri 2 Ciruas country is capable of produce 52,94% students have very high motivation, 29,41% students have high motivation and 17,64% students have medium motivation. The students cognitive ability of students have obtain percentage 20,58% in the category of excellent, 50% good category, 8,82% enough categories, 8,82 low category and 11,76% bad category. As the result the research concluded that the average of students motivation based on questionnaires thet is equal 78,67% in the high category, and the average of students cognitive ability based on the objective test that is equal 70,14% a good category.
