  • ABSTRACT This research aim to know the scientific approach through the guided inquiry learning model on environmental pollution sub concepts. The method was used in this research is descriptive. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Cilegon VII grade on second semester of the academic year 2013/2014. The sampling technique was used in this research were purposive sampling. Research data retrieval using scientific approach test and observation sheet. scientific approach of students are measured on this research consisting of five aspects which observe, questioning, association, trying and communicate. The result showed, the average scientific approach aspects was measured by using scientific test is 73.14% and those included in the good category. The average of guided inquiry learning model that are performed by the students is 83.33% are included in the very good category. Guided inquiry learning model that are perfomed by the teacher has an average of 100% are included in the very good category. Based on the result of the research it can be concluded that the scientific approach through the guided inquiry learning model on environmental pollution sub concepts are included in the good category with average rating 73,14%. While in the aspects of communicating is included in the very good category with 89.10%. On the other hand, the aspects of questioning is included in the less category with 48.50%.
