  • ABSTRACT The research aimed to know the differences of students’ cognitive learning outcome between using STAD (Student Team Achievment Division) cooperative learning model and Jigsaw cooperative learning model in invironmental pollution concept. This research was conducted in MTs Negeri 1 Kota Serang academic year 2013/2014. The method of research is used quasi experimental with the nonequivalent control group design and used population are all of students in sevent class. The research sample was a class VII A and VII B. Class VII A as a STAD (Student Team Achievment Division) learning method class with 35 students and VII B as a Jigsaw learning method class with 35 students. Sampling technique with a purposive sampling. Data was collected by multiple choice test and observation sheet. Based on the result of research obtained average value cognitive learning outcome the class which usage STAD learning method 51,6 and 64,6 for the Jigsaw learning method. The results of hypothesis testing at significance level α = 0,05 shown t hitung > t (4,505 > 1,371) or significance is (0,000) < 0,05, means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there are differences of students’ cognitive learning outcome between using STAD (Student Team Achievment Division) cooperative learning model and Jigsaw cooverative learning model in invironmental pollution concept. tabel Key words: learning outcomes, learning model, invironmental pollution.
