- This study aims to determine the effect of work stress and workload on employee performance and whether emotional intelligence can be a moderating variable. In this study the method used is descriptive and causal methods. Data collection techniques using questionnaires with interval scale measurements with rating scale values 1 - 10. And using 60 respondents as a sample as well as population or called saturated samples. For data analysis, the model test is used using SMARTPLS 3.0 analysis tool which consists of the outer and inner test models. From the calculation SMARTPLS 3.0, the research results with significance level of 0.05% was obtained conclusions: (1) there is a negative and significant impact of work stress on employee performance (2) there is a negative and significant impact of workload on employee performance (3) emotional intelligence can moderate work stress on employee performance (4) emotional intelligence can moderate workload on employee performance.
