  • This research was aimed to know the plant growth and yield reponse of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) by various types of wick and inorganic planting media in hydroponics wick system. The research was conducted from January to March 2021 in Kabembem Village, Balaraja subdistrict, Tangerang District, Banten Province and Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was types of wick (S) consisting of three levels which were: flannel (S1), wool (S2), Cotton (S3) and the second factor was various of planting media (M) consisting of three levels which were: rockwool (M1), zeolite (M2), and sand (M3). The result showed that treatment of wick flannel (S1) revealed the best result for plant height at 20 day after planting (9.65 cm), number of leaves at 35 day after planting (12.17 sheet), and fresh weight of plant (69.19 g). The use of zeolit media affected the parameter of plant height at the age 35 day after planting (24.36 cm) and fresh weight (66.25 g). There was no interaction between the treatment using various types of wick and planting media on all the parameters observed except for the dry weight parameters of plants.
