- The need for electrical energy for the use of household electrical loads is increasing every day, therefore the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system that has been built cannot cover the needs of electrical loads outside of the initial design, so that PLTS is not able to supply electrical power to be used by the load. electricity. In this study, a tool is designed to optimize the use of PLTS output power with a smart grid device, so as to save the use of electricity from the State Electricity Company (PLN). The methods of smart grid tools include automatic distribution that can divert power from the main source to additional sources, and smart grid tools can control and monitor the use of electric power from PLTS and PLN sources in real time through the Internet of Things (IoT). The results of this smart grid tool use a load of 770 Wh and show an average percentage of electricity usage from PLN of 70.65% and electricity saving of 29.35%.
