  • Fracture is a term that refers to the discontinuity of bones both total and partially determined by their type and extent. Based on data from RISKESDAS Banten in 2018, humerus fractures are the most common cases after femoral fractures where the cases were caused by traffic accidents (65.6%) and falls (37.3%). Post-orif fracture patients will experience several nursing problems, one of which is the risk of infection. The purpose of this study is to be able to carry out nursing care for the risk of infection in post-orif humeral fracture patients with infection prevention measures. The writing of this research uses descriptive research methods in the form of case studies with a nursing care approach that includes assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The research subject in this case study is the comparison of 2 patients with post-orif humeral fractures. The results of the case report found data on Mr. D and Tn. F postoperatively orif humerus fracture on the 1st day. Both patients had surgical wounds that were still covered with gauze on the right humerus. From the results of the study, it was found that the nursing problem was the risk of infection. The intervention is infection prevention to reduce the risk of infection. The implementation is wound care to reduce the risk of infection. After implementation for 3 days on both patients, the nursing problem of infection risk was resolved. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the nursing problem of risk of infection in post-orif humeral fracture patients can be resolved if good and correct nursing care is carried out.
