- Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disorder characterized by hyperglycemia that affects carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. What occurs as a result of insulin secretion or insulin action Objective: To provide emergency nursing care with a series of care activities provided in emergency conditions which aim to reduce the level of patient emergency in dealing with emergency conditions in the ER. Data collection techniques in this research are interview, observation, physical examination, and document study. The method used in the case study uses emergency nursing care which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. From the results obtained based on the results of case studies on client 1 and client 2, the hyperglycemia was caused by the daily habit of consuming sweet foods and drinks. Diagnosis of client 1 and client 2 have the same diagnosis, namely instability of blood glucose levels associated with hyperglycemia. The intervention is Hyperglycemia Management. The implementation is monitoring blood glucose levels and administering insulin therapy. Evaluation is based on the results of case studies on clients 1 and 2 whose blood glucose levels are not stable and within normal range. Finally, the authors conclude that the problem in client 1 can be resolved so that the intervention can be stopped, while in client 2 the problem is partially resolved so that the intervention is still continued.
