  • ARI is an infectious disease that affects one or more of the respiratory tract from the nose (upper canal) to the alveoli (lower canal) including connective tissue such as sinuses, middle ear cavity and pleura (Kemenkes, 2010). ARI is an infectious disease caused by a virus or bacteria. ARI often occurs in toddlers. Children with ARI will experience respiratory problems in the form of shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, coughing, and colds. The condition can cause the child to have an ineffective airway clearance disorder, if the condition is not treated properly it will lead to continued complications of death. The purpose is to implement nursing care in children with nursing problems. Airway cleansing is not effective with the action of Effective Cough Training. Using a case study research design with a nursing care approach that is research by collecting data ranging from nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation and nursing evaluation. This case study was performed on two ARI people with ineffective airway clearance. The results showed that after performing effective cough exercises, nursing problems in patient 1 and patient 2 can be resolved on the 4th day of nursing care. Conclusions from the results of nursing actions Effective cough exercises have been shown to be effective.
