  • Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder disease due to the amount of insulin produced by pancreatic beta cells cannot meet normal metabolic needs, because pancreatic beta cells experience a decrease in function resulting in the hormones insulin and glucagon involved in regulating blood sugar levels to be impaired and unable to perform metabolism normally (Silalahi et al., 2018). Diabetes mellitus is characterized by high blood sugar levels which will cause frequent urination, so that a lot of fluid is lost, making the patient thirsty and feeling hungry continuously, the body feels tired, drowsy, tingling, itchy and blurry eyes. Patients with diabetes mellitus should carry out the 4 pillars of diabetes mellitus management, namely education, medical nutrition therapy, physical exercise, and pharmacological intervention. Regular physical exercise can lower blood sugar levels. Physical exercise in addition to maintaining fitness can also lose weight and improve insulin sensitivity, so that it will improve blood glucose control. The recommended physical exercise is in the form of aerobic physical exercise such as walking, leisurely cycling, jogging, swimming, and diabetes gymnastics (Ocbrivianita, 2012). The method used in this research is data collection, by conducting observations, interviews and physical examinations for the process of collecting the characteristics of the subject required in a study.
